STANDING SEAM METAL
The last roof you will ever buy
A 24-gauge standing seam metal roof is the longest-lasting residential roof you can put on an Austin home. Hidden fasteners, a 40-year paint finish, and a surface that sheds hail. It costs more up front, but it outlasts two or three shingle roofs and holds its value at resale.

Hidden fasteners, no exposed screws
The defining feature of a standing seam roof is that the fasteners are hidden. Panels attach to the deck with sliding clips, not screws driven through the face of the metal. Exposed screws back out over time and leak. Hidden clips do not. This is the difference between a roof that lasts 20 years and one that lasts 50.
24-gauge steel and hail resistance
24-gauge is the standard for residential standing seam, thick enough to resist denting from typical Texas hail. Thinner 26-gauge panels are cheaper but dent more easily. We will not install 26-gauge on a home in hail country. The steel panel also sheds heat, which can lower your attic temperature in summer.
PVDF finish and color retention
The paint on a standing seam roof is a PVDF coating, the same chemistry used on commercial high-rises. It carries a 40-year warranty against chalking, fading, and flaking. In Austin UV, that matters. A lesser finish will fade in 5 years. PVDF holds its color for decades.
When metal is worth it
Standing seam metal costs roughly two to three times what an architectural shingle roof costs. It is worth it if you plan to stay in the home for 15+ years, if you are in a high-hail area where you are tired of replacing shingles, or if you want the look for a modern or hill-country home. It also increases resale value more than any other roof type.

Financing options
Managing the cost of your roofing project
A roof or exterior replacement is a real investment. We make sure the payment side is not the thing that keeps you up at night.
Flexible monthly plans
Spread the cost of your project across manageable monthly payments instead of paying it all at once. We work with financing partners who understand that a roof or siding job is not a planned expense, it is usually an urgent one. Plans range from short-term payoff to longer terms that keep your monthly number low.
Don't wait for an insurance check
If your adjuster is still reviewing the claim or the payout is weeks out, financing lets us get the work started now. You stop the leak, secure the property, and pay the balance down once your insurance funds arrive. No tarp on your roof for a month waiting on paperwork.
Simple, upfront terms
Your estimator walks you through the financing application during the inspection, right at your kitchen table. No obligation, no hard credit pull until you decide to move forward. You see the rate, the term, and the monthly payment before you sign anything.
Works with insurance deductibles
Many homeowners use financing to cover their deductible portion of a storm claim, so the job does not stall on out-of-pocket cost. We coordinate the scope, the claim, and the financing so you understand exactly what insurance covers and what your plan handles.
Questions
Standing Seam Metal Roofing FAQ
How long does a standing seam metal roof last in Austin?
A 24-gauge standing seam metal roof with a PVDF finish will last 50 years or more in Central Texas. The steel does not degrade in UV, the finish carries a 40-year warranty, and the hidden fasteners do not back out. It is the longest-lasting residential roof available.
Does a metal roof attract lightning?
No. Metal roofs do not attract lightning any more than any other roofing material. Steel is actually safer than asphalt in a strike because it is noncombustible. Your home's grounding system handles the electrical path, not the roofing material.
Is a metal roof louder in the rain?
Not when properly installed. Solid sheathing and underlayment absorb the sound. A standing seam roof over a solid deck is about as loud as a shingle roof in the rain. The old idea of a noisy tin roof comes from barns and patios with open framing underneath.
Is standing seam better than exposed-fastener metal?
Yes, significantly. Exposed-fastener panels like corrugated or R-panel have screws driven through the face of the metal. Those screws back out, the rubber washers fail, and the roof leaks. Standing seam uses hidden clips and never penetrates the face of the panel. It costs more but lasts twice as long.
