Hardie Board Siding Replacement in Bouldin Creek
AFTER

The problem
A 1940s bungalow in Bouldin Creek had original wood siding that was rotting at every corner board and along the south-facing wall where rain bounced off the porch roof. The homeowners had patched and painted twice in five years, but the rot kept coming back.
What we did
We removed the original wood siding and installed James Hardie fiber cement boards with a 30-year product warranty. We matched the original trim profile so the bungalow's character stayed intact, and repainted the entire exterior with a UV-rated paint system.
Fiber cement is the right material for Bouldin Creek and Travis Heights because it won't rot, warp, or attract termites, and it holds paint far longer than wood in Central Texas humidity.
The process
- Day one: tear-off of old siding, inspection of sheathing, replacement of two rotted sections
- Day two: house wrap and trim board installation
- Day three: siding installation, matching the original 7-inch exposure
- Day four: caulking, flashing details, and paint prep
- Day five: two coats of exterior paint and final cleanup
Why it mattered
The homeowners had been quoted a full stucco resurface by another contractor, which would have changed the character of the bungalow. Fiber cement gave them modern rot resistance without losing the look that makes Bouldin Creek bungalows what they are.
If you're dealing with rot on an older home, we also handle gutters and painting as part of the same project. One crew, one schedule, no coordination headaches.
