Gutter Guard Installation in Shady Hollow
BEFORE

AFTER

The Project
This Shady Hollow home had 15-year-old gutters that were past their useful life, and the homeowners were tired of cleaning them out after every storm. The original gutters had seams that were leaking, and standard screens that let small debris through to clog the downspouts.
What We Found
- Leaking seams at the original gutter joints
- Clogged downspouts from small debris that passed through the old screens
- Undersized gutters for the roof area - 4-inch troughs that overflowed in heavy rain
- Sagging gutter sections where the hangers had pulled loose from the fascia
What We Did
We removed the old gutters and inspected the fascia, replacing a section of rotted board behind the worst sag. Then we installed 5-inch seamless aluminum gutters rolled on site - no seams to leak except at the corners.
On top of the gutters, we installed micro-mesh leaf guards that keep out everything from oak leaves to shingle granules. The mesh is fine enough to stop even cedar pollen buildup, and it's pitched to shed debris off the roof edge instead of collecting it on top of the guard.
We upsized the downspouts to 3x4 to match the new gutter capacity, and added an extra outlet on the longest run to prevent bottlenecking during heavy storms.
The Result
The installation was completed in one day. The homeowners haven't needed to clean their gutters since. The micro-mesh guards shed leaves during wind and rain, and the oversized downspouts keep up with the hardest Central Texas downpours. The seamless troughs eliminated the leak points that were causing the old gutters to fail.
