Seamless Gutter Installation in Tarrytown
BEFORE

AFTER

The Project
This Tarrytown home sits under a mature live oak canopy that drops debris year-round. The original 5-inch gutters were overflowing during every hard storm because they couldn't handle the combination of leaf buildup and heavy rainfall. The homeowners were cleaning the gutters four times a year and still getting water over the front edge during downpours.
What We Found
- Undersized gutters - 5-inch troughs couldn't handle the roof area and leaf load
- Standard 2x3 downspouts that restricted flow during heavy storms
- Oak debris packed in the valleys and outlets - the main cause of overflow
- Fascia rot behind the gutters where overflow had been running behind the trough
What We Did
We removed the old gutters and replaced the rotted fascia board behind them. Then we installed 6-inch seamless aluminum gutters rolled on site to the exact length of each run - no seams except at corners and outlets.
We upgraded to 3x4 oversized downspouts that move nearly double the water of standard 2x3, and added extra outlets on the long runs to prevent bottlenecking. Micro-mesh leaf guards went on top, pitched to shed debris instead of catching it.
The Result
The entire installation was done in one day. The 6-inch troughs handle the full roof area without overflowing, and the micro-mesh guards keep oak leaves and acorns out so the gutters flow clean during storms. The homeowners haven't needed to clean their gutters since installation, and the fascia is now protected from the overflow that was causing rot.
