GAF system warranty
A shingle warranty only holds if every component on the roof is GAF and the installer is certified. We install GAF starter strip, ridge cap, underlayment, and attic ventilation as a matched system. When we do, you qualify for the Golden Pledge warranty, which covers workmanship for 25 years and materials for up to 50. That is the strongest warranty GAF offers, and most contractors cannot provide it.

GAF Shingles FAQ
What does GAF certified mean?
GAF certifies contractors who meet their installation standards, carry proper insurance, and use full GAF system components. Certification is what unlocks the extended warranties, including Golden Pledge. If a contractor is not certified, you do not get the full warranty even if they install GAF shingles.
How long does a GAF roof last in Austin?
A properly installed GAF Timberline HDZ roof in Austin will last 25 to 30 years under normal conditions. Hail damage can shorten that, but impact-rated GAF shingles hold up better and may qualify you for an insurance discount.
Is GAF better than Owens Corning?
Both are excellent manufacturers. GAF has the larger market share and the Golden Pledge warranty. Owens Corning's SureNail strip is a strong advantage in high-wind areas. We install both and help you choose based on your budget, your warranty goals, and what your insurance adjuster prefers to see.
Do you handle the GAF warranty registration?
Yes. We register your roof with GAF after the final inspection and provide you with the warranty documentation. You do not have to deal with the manufacturer paperwork yourself.
